Baseboard

Insert → Table… creates the board the layout sits on. For a plan meant to be built later, it is the first item: it tells you how much space is really there.

Four shapes

At the top of the dialog, four shapes are available: Rectangle, L shape, U shape, and O shape. They are the same as for the Rectangle drawing tool.

The dimensions

The box — the length and width everything fits inside — comes from the frame you drag out in the plan, or change at the handles. Within this box, the remaining fields describe the individual runs:

Field Meaning
Left run, Right run Width of the two side runs
Bottom run, Top run Depth of the two cross runs
Left leg length, Right leg length how far a side run extends, only for the U shape
Height the thickness of the board

Changing it later

The baseboard stays adjustable for as long as it exists: select it, click it again, and the same fields appear again. The shape can be changed here just as it can when creating it.

The baseboard is a path

That is why it can do what paths can: carry a line color and a fill color, sit on its own layer, and be included when printing or not. The height turns the outline into a solid.
