Dimensions and measuring

A dimension line is an element like any other: movable, adjustable, deletable. There are two ways to create one.

By hand

Measure elements, among the drawing tools in the left toolbar: click the start point, click the end point. If you hit a track or another element while doing so, the point binds to it, and the dimension line moves along with it.

Turn a length into an angle

Open the dimension line's properties (second click) and set Measurement to Angle. A third handle appears in the middle; drag it to the vertex. Show radius adds the radius.

For a whole track

Measure in the context menu of selected tracks creates a dimension line for every straight segment (length) and every curved one (angle and radius). Very short pieces are left out, as is the freely curved path of a flex track: it has no radius.

The dimension lines are anchored to the track. Move, rotate, or bend it, and they move along.

The entry only appears when the selection consists exclusively of tracks.

Adjust

The context menu of a dimension line flips it with Switch dimension side. Text size, arrows, and alignment are in its properties. The Annotation size factor in the Plan Properties enlarges all dimension lines together.
