Move objects
Most of the time you just drag an object into place. Translate mode is for when it has to be exact. You reach it with T or via Translate in the left toolbar — also for multiple objects.
Set a position
With World axes, X, Y and Z appear at the top. Change a number and the object moves there.
Which point of the object the numbers refer to is set by the anchor. The default is the center of the underside: Z is then the height the object stands at. Expanded, the anchor shows a box with corners, edge midpoints and face centers; choose, say, the left edge if something needs to sit flush against a wall.
With multiple objects, the whole selection moves until its anchor sits at that point. Spacing and orientation stay the same.
Move by an amount
The fields below take a distance; Apply moves by exactly that amount, as many times as you like. With Object axes, each object moves along its own axes: 100 mm in X means "100 mm in its own direction" for every track.
The arrow keys move in small steps, Shift in large steps, and Alt moves up and down.
