Installing into multiple hosts

Getting started 7 shows Shift+I for a window and a building. The same key goes further, in both directions.

Anything with a solid can be installed. Whether it cuts an opening while doing so depends on the element: a window or a tunnel cuts, an embankment does not.

Multiple elements into one host

Select the elements, add the host last with Ctrl-click, and press Shift+I. Raily cuts all the openings at once.

One element into multiple hosts

The same cutout should appear on several hosts, for instance on several identically aligned wall segments. Select the element first, then the hosts, and choose Install into selected hosts from the context menu.

Only the first host gets the visible solid

All the others only get the cutout. The command matches one opening across several hosts — it does not duplicate an object.

Move the element afterwards, and all the cutouts follow.

If only one of the selected elements can cut at all, Raily finds it even if you did not click it first. Otherwise the order matters.

Uninstalling

Shift+O or Take out releases the one selected relationship; other cutouts remain
Uninstall from all hosts releases the whole assembly, from any one of its parts. Appears only with more than one host
