Rotate objects
R or Rotation in the left toolbar opens rotate mode for the selection; Shift+R rotates around the object's own axes. Esc leaves it.
Drag or type
- In 2D, a curved double arrow appears as the handle, with a cross at the center of rotation.
- In 3D, there are three rings, one per axis: X red, Y green, Z blue.
The property panel shows the same rotations as numbers: in 2D the angle, in 3D Heading, Pitch and Roll. For a single object, these are its angles. For multiple objects, it is the amount to rotate by; the field then jumps back to 0.
The arrow keys rotate in steps of 1°, or 15° with Shift; see Keyboard shortcuts.
Multiple objects: one center or each on its own
| Selection center | all rotate together around the center of the selection |
| Individual centers | each rotates around its own center. The amount only takes effect with Apply |
World or object
In 3D, and choose whether the rotation happens around the plan's fixed axes or around the object's axes. With the shared center, the plan's axes always apply.
Reset sets the orientation to 0; the position stays.
